This full day workshop introduces managers to the key management tasks and seeks to develop their skills in managing people and work in the changing modern public, private and non-government organisations. Participants are introduced to core management concepts and issues, recent trends and issues, and supported to analyse and develop their management skills to improve their abilities to motivate staff, make strategic decisions, understand culture, manage diversity, promote change and conduct environmental analyses to maximise staff effectiveness.
The workshop is specifically designed for managers who have high levels of technical proficiency and content knowledge, but limited formal management experience or training.
